The Royal
Philatelic Society London,
The Royal Philatelic Society, the oldest philatelic society in
the world, was established in 1869 as The Philatelic Society,
London. Permission to use the prefix 'Royal' was granted by His
Majesty King Edward VII in 1906.

The Great
Britain Philatelic Society The GBPS was founded in
1955 by a small but enthusiastic group of collectors. Since
then it has grown steadily to over 700 members both in this
country and abroad. The Society's primary aim is to promote,
encourage and contribute to the advancement of the philately of
Great Britain.

Circle The West Africa Study Circle, formed in 1950,

Society The GB Overprints Society (GBOS) helps
members and collectors to explore the many ways and reasons why
British stamps and other postal material have been overprinted,
whether it is for use outside the UK or for special functions
within the UK. This opens up a wide variety of avenues, which
will interest not only GB collectors who want to find out other
uses of their favourite stamps, but also collectors of
particular countries or themes.

Society The Sarawak Specialists' Society was founded
in 1947

Sarawak, Brunei, North Borneo
