Dorothy Sharp (1928 – 2024)

The Grosvenor graphic designer Dorothy Sharp passed away on June 25th, having  celebrated her 96th birthday earlier in the month. She had worked as part of our team for over 25 years, the front cover of the recent GPA 159 catalogue being her final contribution.

The Grosvenor specialised Great Britain auction on December 17th proves demand remains heatlthy.



The sale of Great Britain material held by Grosvenor on December 17 proved once again that demand remains steady, with some very strong prices achieved for line-engraved material.



Included in the sale was a remarkable registered envelope (lot 1258)sent in November 1937, from London to Rio de Janeiro, the postage totalling £22 1s 3d.

Rhodesia proves to be ‘star of the show’

The sale of stamps and postal history by Grosvenor at their auction room in London’s Strand on November 11 and 12 realised a total of £822,985, (all prices quoted include buyer’s premium + VAT). The sale was particularly strong in Rhodesia, and a number of outstanding items sold extremely well.

Grosvenor autumn 2003 auction realises record figure in excess of £1.5 million

The Grosvenor Autumn 2003 auction, held over two days on 19th and 20th November, and which has been described as the strongest all World auction to be held in London for some years, realised a final total of £1,528,046.
